The amazingly romantic medieval Castle Jolanda dates back to the eleventh century; it was the favourite residence of the Duchess Jolanda of Valois, sister of King Louis XI of France. It is located halfway between the beautiful baroque city of Turin and the cosmopolitan city of Milan just an hour drive from the International Airport of Milano Malpensa. Surrounded by an authentic historical frame, this castle has maintained throughout the centuries its strong medieval imprint thanks to a beautiful work of conservative renovation which has enhanced the manor, without altering its monumental character. The castle and its enchanting park dominates the area with a spectacular view of the Alps and the surrounding valley. Almost unique among private castles, Castle Jolanda is the ideal solution for a romantic wedding in a historical and medieval castle in Italy.
A very unique aspect is that couples can choose to have a legally binding civil ceremony in the beautiful gardens surrounded by the mountains, this is quite rare to find among wedding venues in Italy so it is definitively a plus! Alternatively if the Bride and Groom wish to have a religious ceremony there is a lovely Catholic Church which is literally within five minutes walking distance from the Castle.
After the ceremony the wedding party walks through an enchanting arch path to reach another beautiful area of the castle gardens where they can enjoy a glass of Italian prosecco and some mouth-watering culinary delights in the charming and intimate atmosphere of this gorgeous venue. The sitting dinner is served indoors in the antique cellars of the Castle. There are only a few selected caterer companies that are authorised to work at Castle Jolanda so couples are sure to receive the highest quality of service and the excellent food and wine that are typical of the Italian cuisine tradition. It is also important to underline that everything is prepared and cooked on site using the freshest ingredients. The fine dining is followed by the cutting of the wedding cake, set in the magical ambience of the historical Castle and by the fun of the dancing party, accompanied by a glass of delicious wine and some tasty delights at the desserts buffet… which needless to say, is our favourite!
