A Truly Intimate Italian Elopement in Barolo’s Stunning Wine Country
Most famous for its locally produced Barolo wine, the village of Barolo is also home to beautiful rolling hills covered in vines, rich pasta dishes, world-renowned white truffles, and medieval architecture. Situated in the wine country region of Piedmont, Barolo makes the perfect setting for a romantic Italian elopement– especially for wine lovers and foodies
A lovely couple from Finland
From the moment they started planning their wedding, Rosa and Joonas, our lovely couple from Finland, knew that they wanted to keep their celebration private, so eloping was an easy choice for them. Since Joonas is a huge wine enthusiast, it only made sense for the couple to have an Italian elopement. Beyond that, this young and lively couple was open to suggestions.
When Leoeventi’s founder, Monica, recommended Barolo to the couple, they were immediately sold. After completing the marriage paperwork with assistance from Monica, Rosa and Joonas excitedly made their way to Italy to say “I do!”
Intimate photos before the ceremony
Because Rosa and Joonas decided not to have guests at their Italian elopement, they were able to savor every moment of their special day together. From starting the day by sharing breakfast at their cozy hotel to helping each other get ready, the couple enjoyed a relaxed morning together. Luckily, they had an amazing local photographer there to capture all of these precious moments too. Just looking at the intimate photos before the ceremony, I’m sure you can feel all the love and passion between these two.
Barolo Castle for the ceremony
Stepping into the ancient Barolo Castle for the first time for their legally binding ceremony, Rosa and Joonas were awestruck by the property’s elegant, historical atmosphere. Previously serving as a noble residence and then a university, the Barolo Castle is now a wine museum that hosts special events, such as weddings and elopements.
Alongside the two witnesses provided by Leoeventi at the Barolo Castle, Rosa and Joonas vowed to spend the rest of their lives together. Officially married and absolutely beaming with joy, the couple headed to a lovely nearby vineyard. Along the way, the photographer captured Rosa and Joonas’s bubbly personalities and heartwarming connection on the village’s cobblestone lanes. At the vineyard, the couple had a gorgeous photoshoot, which was one of their most highly-anticipated visions for their wedding.
To wrap up their dreamy Italian elopement, Rosa and Joonas celebrated with dinner and Barolo wine at a luxurious restaurant perched upon a hill. With breathtaking views of the countryside’s vineyard-covered valleys, the couple enjoyed dinner as the sun set on the village of Barolo.
Getting married at an ancient castle among vineyards was the perfect fit for Rosa and Joonas, and the couple was so happy to have had Leoeventi’s expert advice while planning their elopement in Barolo.
