LEOEVENTI has been the wedding planner of choice for the famous UK actress / singer Martine McCutcheon’s Wedding on the romantic shore of Lake Como. Martine has tied the knot with her boyfriend musician Jack McManus wearing a vintage-style lace wedding gown by Pronovias. The fairytale wedding took place in one of the world’s most romantic spots, the stunning Villa del Balbianello which, thanks to its spectacular panoramic views of the lake and of the surrounding mountains, offers the perfect setting for a luxurious and exclusive wedding on Lake Como.
During our first meeting with Jack and Martine, they both immediately came across as warm and friendly, a really lovely couple. Things clicked from the very start of the planning and we were happy to see that they trusted us with their big day; their wedding was also going to be featured on a very popular UK magazine, so we felt really honoured that they chose us to bring to life their dream wedding! Martine McCutcheon’s Wedding planning went by quickly and smoothly, Martine had a very clear vision of what she wanted for her wedding but she also trusted our advice. Together with our florist team and following Martine’s exquisite taste, we arranged the whole flower theme of the wedding. For the ceremony we decorated the ivy-clad Loggia of Balbianello with big vases of white hydrangeas and added a magnificent arch of white roses and white hydrangeas. For the dinner marquee, we bedecked each table with a crystal candelabra, a luscious flower arrangement of ivory and white roses and white hydrangeas. We also added a touch of baby blue hydrangeas in the arrangements for the sitting dinner (to tie in with Martine’s bouquet), all surrounded by twinkling candlelight: it was truly a magical sight!!
Approximately 80 family members and close friends flew in for the wedding celebrations but the exact venue was kept secret until the last moment. When the boats approached the iron gates of the Villa, the guests were mesmerized by the beauty of this stunning venue. The idea to keep it a secret until the last minute was of course due to the issue of the paparazzi taking pictures but it also made things very exciting, all very 007-Bond like, which is quite fitting because Villa del Balbianello is where some scenes of 007 Casino Royale with Daniel Craig were filmed. Following the Bond Theme, Jack wanted to have a special corner of the Open Bar dedicated to the famous Vodka Martini… which was of course “shaken, not stirred”: this was a great success with the guests!
The whole day has been amazing but one of the most emotional moments was the wedding ceremony, especially the arrival of the Bride (along the opening bars of Moon River) and also during the reading of the vows and the exchange of the rings. The emotions between the Bride and Groom were so intense that we were all moved by this beautiful and romantic scene.
This is by far one of the most amazing weddings we have organized on Lake Como and we are very proud of the end result. We were so happy to receive Martine and Jack’s lovely Thank You Note:

The cherry on top was the feature in the magazine: needless to say, when we saw Martine and Jack’s wedding on the front cover of Hello Magazine we were absolutely thrilled and so proud of the work we have done for this lovely couple: it was really an amazing experience both from a professional and an emotional point of view and we will cherish it forever.
