Villa del Balbianello is undoubtedly one of the most breath-taking and beautiful settings in Europe for a romantic wedding by the lake in Italy: when we took them for their first on-site visit, Rebecca and James were absolutely overwhelmed by the beauty of the venue. That is the effect that this Villa invariably has on people so a wedding at Villa del Balbianello is always an amazing choice!
Once a monastery belonging to a Capuchin order, the villa and its lush green grounds have been lovingly preserved and restored. On the wedding day all the guests arrived by boat: they entered the ornate iron gates of Villa del Balbianello and paused as they wound their way up the steep gravel path to take in the stunning surroundings.

The ceremony was held in the lowest terrace close to the pier. “I would like guests to discover Villa del Balbianello step by step following our planners’ suggestion”, said Rebecca during her second visit to the Villa.
After the ceremony the whole wedding party made its way up to where the cocktail reception was to take place. Situated on the high point of the Lavedo peninsula and boasting incredible panoramic view of the village of Bellagio, the ivy-clad loggia of Balbianello was the best point of the venue to enjoy the beauty of this enchanting location. While Rebecca and James walked around the gardens with the photographer, guests admired the scenery sipping an excellent Italian Prosecco.
The other stunning moment was when everybody entered the enlightened marquee in the big lowest terrace: here Rebecca and James together with their guests enjoyed another stunning area of Balbianello. The dinner area was enriched with amazing table décor and was truly magical. Each guest found a small bottle of Limoncello liqueur next to their presentation plates, a nice tradition that added a touch of typical Italian flavour to the table.
The flower design, as in all our weddings, played a key role, from the delicate pomanders of the bridesmaids and the gorgeous bouquet of the bride to the rich flower arch of the ceremony and the stunning centrepieces: each arrangement followed the chosen colour scheme of white, ivory and green.
A wedding at Villa del Balbianello is always a magical experience, one that the Bride and Groom and all their guests will cherish and talk about for years to come!
